NICHOLS (WBNG) — Live harness racing will return to Tioga Downs on Derby Day Saturday, May 5.
The post time for the first race will be at 5 p.m.
A majority of the races for this year will be on Fridays and Saturdays.
Camel and ostrich racing will also be brought back this year on Fathers Day.
New this year is the Wiener Dog trot, a race between the fasted dachshunds in the area. Registration to have a dog participate will be open until May 14th.
The resort and casino is also getting ready for its concert series.
“We’ve got some great concerts coming up this summer for those who have not seen that, actually the first one is coming up at the end of this month. We have Chris Jantsen, hes an upcoming country artist so tickets are going well for that,” Jim Weed, the marketing manager said.
