Fifth Street is going all out to celebrate the coveted Kentucky Derby. In addition to the wiener races and hot-dog eating contest that are part of the Dachshund Dash, games, street performers, drink and food specials, there’s something for everyone (even the kiddos). The race will be on every television that 5th Street has to offer. Select businesses will be hosting their own twist on a “derby race” or fun activity of their own:

• BRIM: Brim is setting up a Paint Your Own Lucky Horseshoe stand while the other Oregon District festivities take place, from around 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

• Blind Bob’s Bar: Along with many other bars on Fifth Street, Blind Bob’s will be showing the race on a projector. Anyone who goes to Bob’s during the day has a chance to guess the winning horse and win a free Blind Bob’s growler or gift card. Live music from Bassel & The Supernaturals will start at 9:30 p.m.
