Tooie is one talented hound! She was not trained to do this…just started standing one day to get my attention. She was standing for extra long one day so i busted out the camera 🙂 I wanna protect her little back, so now i stop her whenever i can!

My dachshund does that when he’s begging for food. Admittedly, I kind of conditioned him to do that.
ask any vet, this sitting can damage a dachounds back. i did not now this either until some one told me when i was having my doxie sit up

I call it "Pretty" when my dach Happy does this too! We just added a "high five" recently lol! Best breed of dog EVER!
my one has never been able to do this she has a bad back and she’s old now but it’s so strange but funny seeing a long sausage standing on its back legs haha

my mini does that too! and he’ll do it for a while! as soon as i have something he wants he sits pretty before i even ask him to. how cute!

My older dachshund, Sammy, can do this, but she usually does it when she’s begging for food. Dachshunds are able to do it because of balance. Although, it is not good for their backs, seeing as the years go on, they can develop back problems, but that doesn’t stop them from doing it.
my dashund can do this but hes kindda old now so he has back problems so its kindda does damage there back but its still really cute

It’s cute, but not good for their back (just like jumping on and off of furniture and going up/down flights of steps)!!!

My last dog used to do that and beg but the vet said not to let my new doxie do that. This is very bad for their backs.
