Stubborn Dachshund refusing to go outside…
After a very comfortable night on the sofa, our two Dachshund stubbornly REFUSE to go outside for their morning wee. The same scenario repeating every morning; no matter how much I plead and perform. *sigh*

i guess i am lucky coz my Doxie never peed and mess inside the house, i think he knows how to control the urge, my grandma has very loud voice and she will always scold my doxie before when he’s still a pup everytime he mess, and now i guess he had learned, lol, every morning if he wants to pee he would just bark and bark and bark until we get the msg. he "pooes" 3x a day, he is really trained. but the stubborn issue is an not an exception.

Dachshund goes pee only if he / she want it .. and then they are usually in front of the door and "it" must go soon then ..:))

1st: open veranda door, 2nd: give command: go pee..(pointing into the garden)..and our two rascals will go and do so….unless it rains, then they will have to be carried out into the garden, will have to be put down and picked up up to be carried back into the house after the job is done ..

Mine would pee if i tried to make her move. No muevete nunca por el tiempo fria o uvioso. I watched D.W. also but only saw one epi close to my situation. Cesar does use a sound tst or something so I made up one that works for me I say "chop chop" Reluctantly she obeys and goes out.

My Doxie loves truck rides but refuses to jump in until she has gone Pee Pee. The problem is that sometimes she does not have to go pee. I give her some time and then I just pick her up and put her in the truck. If I don’t do this she will chase the truck and run until she has a heart attack.
lol yes, you right – It does sound a lot like ‘bite her, bite her’! The ‘command’ I actually used was ‘Outside, outside!’ (In Afrikaans = ‘Buite, buite!) Thanks for watching and funny comment 🙂

my dachshund doesn’t ever want to go pee either and he will hold it until you pet him then he excite pees.

Dachshund puppies need to be crate-trained to learn where to go do their thing. I had one puppie that stayed with a golden retriever when I was at work and pocci (pinoccio) learned from him. I adopted 3-year-olds that were housebroken when I got them; what a relief. Dachshunds will copy what people do, and well, adults do some things in the house we want them to do outside. The dog sees no logic in that.
Dachsunds are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.
HAHA! I have one that does this every morning. I have to physically pick him up and take him out! he’s my lazy dachshund!
@scottswan They considered one of the most difficult breeds to house train yes! Even after having Hansi neutered, he still marks chair legs and his favorite leg – my piano’s legs! Those special sprays also don’t deter him from leaving his signature where ever he wants to leave it. *sigh*

Adult dachshunds are like 8-week-old dachshunds. They don’t grow up. Just because you tell them to do something doesn’t mean they’ll do it unless they see something they want that coincides with what you want. If we wanted obedient dogs we’d get golden retrievers.

Oh, my god you’re talking way too much! No wonder they’re ignoring you. All you need to do is tell them once and if they don’t move, you move them yourself.
so cute. they have this face that says "but i dont need to go right now" lol my mini puppies frequently ask to go outside. now weather they GO outside is a different story. I wish mine were a little more calm they act like they had like 10 cups of coffee.
They are gorgeous and just like mine: STUBBORN!!
