SLAYED BY SAUSAGE DOGS: Dachshunds maul woman to death

An Oklahoma woman was reportedly mauled to death by a pack of wiener dogs late last week. 

News outlet KTEN reported 52-year-old Tracy Garcia was standing outside her Carter County, Okla., home last Thursday when she was mauled by her neighbour’s seven dogs. The woman later died of her injuries. 

The group of dogs included six dachshund-terrier mixes and one border collie mix.

“This is a bad situation, a very unfortunate situation,” Carter County sheriff Chris Bryant told KTEN. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victims. This is just a bad deal all the way around.”

The sheriff said one of the dogs was shot to death by cops on scene while the remaining six were later euthanized. 

According to the Daily Ardmoreite, the vicious dogs all weighed under 40 pounds. Six of them were about a year old while a seventh – likely the mother – was three-years-old.

Ardmore Animal Shelter euthanasia technician Amanda Dinwiddie told KXII they were all infested with fleas and ticks.

“We were cleaning ticks off ourselves all day,” Dinwiddie said. “They are very covered, you can tell they have been living out in the woods.”

It’s unknown what triggered the dogs to attack Garcia, but an investigation is ongoing Bryant said.
