  1. Dolly is awesome. My dach Dakota looks very much like Dolly and does the exact same thing, supporting himself with his head and neck to dig with both feet. Such a riot.

  2. Your Dolly is a shorthair carbon copy of my Dolly who is a longhair even down to those intelligent loving eyes. Yes I did catch that brief "I love you look" from your Dolly. When my own Dolly is on something she considers serious business I don’t get those looks but she’ll make up for it later. I don’t care because I know she loves me even more than the German Shepherds I once owned. Yes I went from German Shepherds to a mini doxie and to my delight discovered that doxies share many of the German Shepherd’s traits only more intense.

Up until a few years ago I had no use for doxies. I said I’d never own one in fact my wife and I said we’d never own another dog period.. We’d stick with cats. Dolly was my neighbors dog. She had an even worse opinion of us than we did of her, in fact Dolly passionately hated us. long story short, 6 months after my neighbor purchased her Dolly decided that me and my wife was going to be her new owners and went on a two week mission to convince us that this was going to happen.

We have owned Dolly for 5 years now. I can’t and don’t want,to think of life without her. She has spent 5 years making up for the time she constantly barked at us. She acts as if living with us is the greatest privilege a dog could ever have. I wish YOUR Dolly a very long and happy life. I now love this breed.
