Key West’s Dachshund Walk provides an informal, family-friendly prelude to the frenetic revelry that takes place later in the night as the Florida Keys ring in the new year.
The long-bodied canines and their owners gather in Key West’s historic Old Town district for the “wiener wonderland” walk. Some dachshunds are dressed in costumes or offbeat accessories. The walking route, which includes a block of Key West’s famed Duval Street, is deliberately kept brief to cater to the canine contingent’s short legs.
