I had a Dachshund that hated baths. If he saw a towel she would hide under the bed. I would call out my son to close all the doors before I would go get her. She had recognized the word bath so I started saying it in Spanish but she learn it also.
More interesting then the bath is, what happened with the wet dogs. We tried to dry our Eauhaardackel with a towel. The dog ran then to Settee, and rounded the settee in rubbing on the settee, until he was dry.
My female Doxie is almost 14 and she still hates taking a bath and runs around craZy after her bath, digging in her bed then up on the sofa, going nuts with her blanket. I think its a common theme with this breed
I have had that problem with many dogs. what might help is if you find or make some treats your dog really loves. with most of the dogs I bathe it’s dehydrated sweet potato fries. especially when it comes to Maggie my mother in-law’s dachshund. I make a 20 pound batch a month. I bathe about 25 dogs a day 6 days a week. if you cut the fries in to bite sized peaces and have someone feed them to the dog. the dog will associate something good with bath time. also the only time they get the fries is during of right after there bath. start out giving one every 5 to 10 seconds the first 2 to 3 baths then double the time between treats with each bath. when you get to a min between treats start giving them only when the dog is doing what you want. Maggie use to hate baths but now she sees the treats and jumps right in the tub. now she gets one hole fry after her bath.
SOME DOG THINK YOU ARE GOING TO DROWN THEM I HAVE A POODLE AND A DASHHOUND THEY WOULD GO IN THE BATH TUB ALL THE TIME, BUT BATH THEM IN THE SINKAND THEY WOULD WINE AND CRY.
I have a daug which is a dachshound/ pug mix he hates baths also he has so many traits in common with both breeds but especially the dachshound side.He loves to cuddle and lay with people and wants to be held alot I know pugs are like that sometimes but are dachshounds. Also my dog is now a year old in January and we were thinking about getting another dog so he can have a playmate possibly a six-month-old or a-year-old a dash

My Weiner likes baths because he knows he is getting a treat after so he doesn’t mind.
Though there are some complaints about the music, I like it. Of course, the doxies are the stars!
every dachshund I have ever bathed has put on a dramatic show of whining and scratching as if suffering the tortures of death. Very dramatic!
LOL, Just how big is your kitchen sink ? My little girl has to go bottom down first and then front legs just to fit .

I never have a problem bathing my long haired pure bred Dachshund. He loves his bath. You need to be gentle and not rush through the process.

Mu first dachshund Daisy just hated bathung and I actually had to muzzle her for her bath but my 3 year old Cozy absolutely loves her baths. Happily!
