Yesterday saw the launch of the very first pug cafe in the city’s Pie and Brew, with hundreds of pug fans queuing up to take part.

Now organisers will set even more tails wagging with their latest announcement – Glasgow’s first dachshund cafe.

Following a public vote between four cities, the Dear Green Place will be the setting for the up-and-coming event where sausage dogs can pop along with their humans to meet new friends and snack on tasty treats.

Manchester will also host one of the fledgling meet-ups, following the first dachshund cafe in Esquires Guildford in March this year.

Glasgow’s one-off cafe will boast a whole dachshund menu – including pupcakes, bark-scotti, woofins and a free pupuccino for every sausage dog.

And even if you don’t own a dog, you’re welcome to come along.

It’s likely the event will again be held in Pie and Brew, but the date has yet to be revealed.

Organiser Anushka Fernando said: “We’ve started the event for Dachshunds recently having held it in Surrey and Nottingham, we did a Facebook poll to see where people want us and Glasgow came top!

“We should be working with Pie and Brew again but have yet to confirm our date for it.”
