Noodle, The Paralyzed Dachshunds’ Journey To Beating Paralysis! This WILL Make You Cry!
Noodle is a spunky, precious little Mini Dachshund who has been nothing but an inspiration to me for the last 3 months. Noodle developed a disc disease in July of 2015, which subsequently lead to her becoming paralyzed. The perseverance this 4 year old has is unbelievable. Who would have thought ‘a dog’ could be inspirational? I never did, until now.
Before going through the conservative adaptation process, Noodle’s Vet told us she only had a 10% to ever walk again. They told us not to try Animal Chiropractic Care as we were basically signing up to waste our time and money. Turns out, they were wrong.
This video is here to let everyone know that this kind of animal care, along with the willpower and determination, can lead to great results. After 3 short visits to the Chiropractor, the progress we are seeing is remarkable. Noodle has determination to walk again, and with the way she’s going, she may be walking by Christmas!
I hope this powerful video really ‘hits home’ and resonates with you.

Stay tuned for an update.
My dachshund has had her back legs go out twice. I’m so thankful for our vet who never said the words put down. With the treatment they had her on and us doing some PT at home she recovered both times. Never give up on your fur babies.
This gives me a bit of hope. My family has a Dachound (Peanut) who has been recently paralyzed. It’s only been 2/3 weeks, but she seems to be getting worse, and my step dad is already talking about putting her down if she doesn’t get better. Seeing this gives me hope that she will. I just hope my mom is able to talk him into keeping her alive so that she can improve.
What was the first sign? I found my dog limping with her back leg not touching the ground. Were taking her to the vet tomorrow. thank you
My dog Hansel got paralyzed. After talking too the vet i decided too end it. I put him down in the grass a last time and went inside too deal with it. The next thing I hear was a growling and barking. I looked and saw hin pulling himself down the hill to the dirt road I live on. He rolled over a couple of times and tried too jump on some dogs throat the was walking down the road. I could not believe it. And he recovery ofter that. That was a good 10 years ago and we had lots a fum together since then. Don’t give up on them.
go noodle
Wonderful pet owners.
Thank you for sharing. My Macy had emergency surgery on Sunday and is paralyzed. The doctor said it is 50/50 chance to walk again on the back legs and both her dad’s need all the hope we can get. Heart broken here… Pray for a miracle! God is good and He is able!
I like the song fight song☺☺
My doxie, Billy Boy, was beginning to lose control of his hind legs which I noticed as he tried to jump up stairs. I immediately took him to our vet, and that wise man showed me exactly where Billy’s back problem was with the tip of a ball point pen. The vet promptly put Billy under cage controlled rest and started him on medication. Naturally, I was most concerned for my little boy, but as if by a miracle he recovered. I love my vet and his staff. When Billy passed away with heart problems, the entire clinic staff and vet sent us a signed sympathy card, including the paw prints of Billy’s friends, the kennel dogs. My advice is for all dog owners, especially doxies, to seek immediate care at the first sign of paralysis. Another piece of advice is to consider adoption from a rescue group. After Billy died, I did, and got the sweetest little doxie we named Buddy. He and Billy look so much alike they could easily have been litter mates. They were one month apart in age, both same weight, and smooth red piebalds.

I’ve had dachshunds for fifty years and out of the thirteen I’ve had three of them have have ivdd that lead to paralysis. Two regained the use of their legs after a couple of months with crate rest and nsaids. The the third one I still have has been paralyzed for five years now. No deep pain and no bladder control and no chance of ever regaining use of his back legs again. 4 grand for surgery and another few hundred for physical therapy and chiropractic and nothing. He’s in no pain and does great in his wagon. Still digs up the yard, hunts snakes, and has front leg and chest muscles like a pit bull. The tenacity of the breed is something that always given me a deep love for these tough little bastards. They don’t back down, they don’t give up. Good luck Noodle you Doxie brothers are pulling for you.
My 2nd doxie went thru this and came out of paralysis after 4 months. Many people came up to us on the street when she was in her K9 cart days telling many doxie stories of recovery from paralysis. Far more recovery stories than non recovery. My other 2 doxies never had these problems.
I see these videos and I get my faith back… We just went through surgery 3 weeks ago and the vet is not giving us much hope for our little one to walk as he does not feel anything from the surgery area down. Was this the case for Noodle? about not feeling anything? I would appreciate your comments. THANK YOU
the slippery wooden floor did not help for sure, you should have gotten rid of that to start with, parket floors are dog back killers
A beautiful friend with lovely people looking after her.
;-(
Thanks for sharing, and for not giving up on a wonderful pup. After hearing so many tragic stories of people abusing and dumping Dachshunds at the pound because they bark or are hard to housetrain, this is really great. Thanks!
I have a paralyzed dachshund also it’s a couple of years now he is now standing and taking some steps. On his own it can happen so don’t give e up
I had my frankie for 11 years . i came home one day and he was dragging his back right foot , took him to the vet , found out he had 3 vertebra pressing on his nerves , we fought it for 3 months but he was getting worse and in sever pain . he couldn’t go potty by himself, when i tried to help him i caused him more pain . march 7th , 8th of this year i took him to the vet , he showed me his exrays , and was getting worse so on the 9th he crossed the rainbow bridge
Thanks Noodle for giving all is Doxie owners hope…just in case we ever need it! Love you guys!
Very beautiful video! I have a puggle (6 yrs old) that is going through a very similar thing. I’m hopeful she will keep up her fight just like Noodle did. Here’s her page if you’d like to follow her progress: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzdD5g6X83d0fCDX1C9mhNQ

I’m crying
Hi, my dog was diagnosed with this yesterday and I was told the only option I had was to either pay up to $8000 for surgery or have him put to sleep. I just want to know from anyone who’s dog have had this if your pet had surgery if did he/she just recover in its own with PT?
This is the exact thing that is happening to my baby right now!! I guess doggy chiropractor, here we come!
Obviously not paralyzed if they end up walking again. Misdiagnosis
My baby in fur done that too. His name was Lucky and he LOVED chasing squirrels. That happened to him, but my mom had him put down. I still am grieving for him, five months later. The doctor that done it was a kind man and told her he could be operated on , he was wagging his tail. She had him cremated, and didn’t even have the decency to let me have his ashes.
Did Noodle pass away? I can’t find it on facebook anymore.
Soo cute
Wow! Amazing video.
BEAUTIFULL !!!!!!!!
Our weenie dog Heidi became paralyzed at age 4. My vet said just let her lay around and see if she would get better. I decided that laying around was not the answer. I made a sling for her butt so when I walked her she wouldn’t scrape her legs. I would put her legs in Pee Position when helping her go potty. I would feed her standing up by using her sling and crate, tying her sling and putting her legs in standing position. One day when going potty her back leg moved to position by itself. I knew then she would make it. She lived to be 12. Each time her tail stopped wagging I would take her to the vet for meds as it meant she was getting in bad shape again. When her final day came she was blind and in severe pain. She had been struggling for a month to keep going. It was time for her to go to the Bridge. I still miss her after almost 20 years.
Was Noodle adopted through Georgia Peaches rescue? My dog, Bixby, (previously named Sonny) recently had the same issue yesterday and I’m trying to find his brother (Noodles) to let them know.
My lil guy is just coming back from all 4 leg paralysis. He still had partial nerve control because he would fight us with his bladder. Two weeks in we were about ready to give up because he wasn’t eating or drinking, then all of a sudden he perked up. It’s been now 3 weeks since then and he’s running and playing. He still has some issues; but every day he progresses to being himself. Keep it up, time is what it takes to get that swelling down and now rebuild the muscles.
God bless noddle!
