I’ve got two of these mixes and I love them! I thought I was getting a pure beed mini dachshund until she kept growing but I couldn’t be happier! Happened to find my second on craigslist and had to have him! LOVE this mix!!!

That’s a beautiful dog but it makes my legs hurt just looking at his poor front crooked legs.
I also own a pitweenie named emmie lou, she is the sweetest dog. Very fun personality. Her dad (the dachound) was breed with a red nose pit, so she is a reddish color with yellow eyes.
@kim hunter I have the same mix of dog click on my uploaded videos and u will see him and her and I live in florida so if u want to mate let me kno hes a dauchund mixed pit and he came out little like a dauchund because the daddy was a mini dauchund

I kno how u feel my dogs mean the worl to me there daddy was a mini dauchund and before they were born he died the we found out our pitbull was pregnant so they were two blessings because we were so heart broken over our mini dauchund,then a couple months later they were born I love them so much.

While very cute, this is not a good mix. Just another specialty dog that will end up in shelters and bred by puppy mills to make a buck. In addition, both of the breeds have certain traits that should not be mixed. doxies tend to be stubborn and sometimes difficult to train (I have 4 of them). Those traits mixed with a Pit is not a good mix. Plus, the poor breeding pair, consider the size difference. A pits large head head could force c-sections trying to breed this mix. I hope this mix stays under the radar and all who have one gets them spayed and neutered.
how active are these dogs? more dachshund can run but not long, or more working dog. dog that can play and run for hours?

I have one I rescued him in October 2016. He has changed my whole world I love buddy with all my heart and can’t see my life without him even my kids are jealous of him. He is so smart and protective over me and my son that is handicap he will not let anyone hurt us I didn’t know what type of dog he was until I started to research him. He is amazing and anyone would be lucky to have a dog like him

My Pitwiener, Cheye Anne, is 8 years old. She’s a perfectly healthy and spunky bitch, with tons of attitude! Her Dad’s a Black and Tan Short Hair Wiener, and her Mom’s a Red Nose Pit. These dogs are a perfect mix. Just ask my Vet who begged to breed her!

I have a black and white Pit Dachshund mix pup 3 months old. I was wondering how big is your boy, (he is Gorgeous and looks well loved BTW) as he looks a lot like my Mr Frodo, minus the white toes and chest. I rescued him and his sister from horrid conditions and they had skin issues and were malnourished. His sister was super tiny and looks more like she will look like a normal sized dog when she grows up.
And for all that were wondering about it usually it is the males that are the Dachshund with the Pit being the mother. I have yet to come across a pairing with the other way around, not saying can’t happen.
Side note:
Mr Frodo is going to be fixed as is my Pit /Lab mix. Breeding dogs is serious and time consuming work, for the betterment of a breed, with genetic testing to ensure not getting bad genes into lines as well as X-rays for hip issues before breeding, if not willing to do that and have pups vetted and guaranteed and willing to take back so do not end up in shelters or rescues DO NOT DO IT..

It’s not a new breed, my brother had one in Vegas in the mid 80’s, he was unique looking, but cute as hell, & what a great disposition!! His name was Blitz & he had the long body of a Dachshund, the brindle coloring of a pit, his chest was big like a pit, & his head was much more like a pit than a Dachshund, & a little taller than one too!!!
Blitz was amazing & smart!! I’ve known of a few people who have had this "breed" of dog over the years.
