Dachshund Parade pawed its way to Washington Square Park
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) – Washington Square Park was the place to be for dog-lovers on Saturday as the park hosted the 17th annual Rochester Dachshund Parade.
This year's theme was variety and that's because many might not know that Dachshund breeds come in a number of different sizes, colors, and coats.
Organizer, Jennifer Thompson said, "It started off with just 30 dogs and now were up to nearly 3-400 dogs."
Veterinary specialists from Rochester Animal Emergency Service and Thereavet Acres informed those who attended about all of these different varieties of Dachshunds and healthy-living tips for their dogs.
"My favorite part of this event were the hot dogs and the hot dogs," said Vern Fasel.
Vendors sold dachshund-themed items and proceeds were donated to support the Verona Street Animal Society.
