  1. Is princess a Dachshund mix? She doesn’t look exactly like the long hair or wired hair dachshunds . Is she an older dog ? You were so kind and wonderful to provide her a home .

  2. If you bake your sweet potatoes in a foil lined pan ahead of time you can peel easily with less waste. I love this wish volume was better.

  3. part 2, (didn’t fit) anyway I loved your video, love the organization. and it is nice to know that some people love their dog enough to take out the time to cook for them. Unfortunately my dogs will only eat fresh cooked meals if I freeze them they won’t eat it anymore. I also add some fish along with the chicken. how many times a day do you feed your dog?

  4. I love this video! I have a 7 month Dachshund puppy and this really helped a lot. Do you think you could possibly make another video on other foods that are good for Dachshunds? 🙂
    Thanks!

  5. Congrats on your dachshund! You must have your hands full with a puppy. Our dog, Princesa, came to us full grown. This recipe was given to us by the vet after we tried many different pet food brands–actually, prior to being fully OUR dog, Princesa often caught, killed, and ate rats–but that’s a whole other story.
Somehow, Princesa never grows tired of this meal (which we serve for both breakfast and dinner). However, for "variety" we’ll grate a bit of cheddar cheese on it for breakfast

  6. you are very well organized,, you clean as you go, I do the same thing, I also cook for my shih tzu’s but my ingredients are different, I use carrots alone I don’t add pumpkin or sweet potatoes because all 3 contain too much sugar, I believe that one of the 3 is enough, I use chicken upper thigh instead of turkey breast because it is not as dry, and dogs need some fat in their diet it is good for the coat After all that work in the end your dog preferred the cheese, ungrateful dog LOL!

  7. There’s much more easier & faster way. Though the information was good was a bit tedious to watch. Also if you decide to give dog’s home cooked food there has to be supplementing involved or they are not getting a complete balance nutritional diet. The meat, potato, veggie & pumpkin is not enough… dachshunds need glucosamine, Vit C, salmon oil… etc. That is why most home cooked food is not recommended unless you know what your doing. The health of your senior dachshund depends on it.

  8. I am willing, but the trick will be to get my husband out of the house during the preparation, or he might g

  9. get the idea that he will also get home made meal….Sorry ffor the message in three parts, I had an eye surgery and find it hard to type. You so well organized!

  10. You make a good point about the naturally-occurring sugar in the starchy vegetables. Perhaps we need to cut back on the sweet potato or pumpkin. As for the number of times we feed her — it’s twice a day — breakfast and dinner. Half a bag for each meal. You have a lovely dog, too.

  11. The vet said that dachshunds have to be exceptionally careful of their weight, as their long backs can often cause serious problems if strained… so we were warned against giving Princesa any dry food.
Once in awhile, Princesa will get a sample of our dinner, as long as it’s fish or white-meat chicken. No fatty foods.
    Good luck with your pooch!
