Miniature Dachshund puppies (4 wks, 5 days old) eating their first PMR (prey model raw) meal. 80% turkey, beef, chicken, pork, 10% organ meat, and 10% edible bone – all ground up.
*There has been some concern over my comment about it being “okay to vomit”. Please note that the puppies ONLY do this on their first meal because they have never had it before. After their first meal they do not vomit.
NO it does not cause them to get worms

Also regarding my “heart is not an organ it’s a muscle” comment. What I mean is that in the raw fed diet it is fed as if it were a muscle, NOT an organ. Muscle meat and organ meat in the raw fed diet are two very different things. Heart is a very rich meat, so it must be fed in small amounts to avoid diarrhea.

Awww, they’re so sweet, I love watching animals eat. They ate quite a lot of that meat so fast. Piglets. =P
in the raw feeding world its not considered an organ bc it is very muscular and not secreting.
It’s still an organ tho.
My Chiweenies have been eating cooked chicken in a stew, and gravy since they were four weeks old, and they’ve been really great on it. They are now ten weeks, and very healthy. I always thought pork, especially raw pork, will give the pups worms so, I only give them chicken, turkey, and a little bit of beef.

I don’t get it. why not YOU regulate it? Don’t let them eat so much at one sitting. let them eat, take it away, few hours later, let them eat, take away, few hours later….etc. Them puking isn’t natural, is it?? It’s kinda cruel to let them eat till they puke. It’s not like you are starving them…but regulating it in moderation isn’t that bad.
Pork is not good for puppies, it takes so much time to digest
Plus go to any vetrianian office and chances are you will be given a hard sell on Science diet and or iams.Follow the money $$ and you will find out the truth.

Are you inmplying that these puppies went straight from mom’s nipples/milk to eating this raw meat food? What about tummy upset?

u should think that wild puppies does not eat bones yet, nor 10 types of meat at a time as this video, dont think puppies can handle or should not handle bone substance yet. there are plenty puppies videos eating part of steak. better this way GL
I was feeding raw to my dachshunds, man were they running "hot", and by hot I mean that it didn’t take much for them to get into fights with each other. After a few years I dialed back and did a low protein kibble and that did the trick. But, I am a big supporter of raw B.A.R.F. diets. It is just so great to know exactly what is going into the food– all human grade ingredients, not the typical dead, diseased and dying that is in most pet foods.
Oh my goodness I don’t think they like it! ;+) j/k of course. My Daisy gets a similar cooked diet, and I add some grassy greens such as collards in a small amount. She has just never been able to digest raw food bu I think the most important thing here is that we are feeding them real food on which they thrive. They’re adorable!
Have you tried Atomic Fat Loss? (Google it) It is a quick way to lose fat fast.

If my dog eats raw meat she explodes and leaves landmines all over my wood floor. I guess its ok for puppies and my dog is just used to canned stuff.
If you didnt live under a rock you would know what i mean by world :). In raw feeding it is considered an organ because in reality it is just one big ever working muscle. What next are you going to fight about? Let me guess raw meat is bad for dogs. Go do some research before you type.

Commercial man made petfood has only been around for 150 years.What do people think dogs/cats ate before then?Increased incidents of cancer,pancreatitus.Dogs and cats fed diseased downer animals not considered fit for human consumption yet some how acceptable to use in processed petfood?The petfood industry can and do lie to consumers legally and get away with.I quit feeding commercial petfood in 2007 after the Melamine china incident and havent looked back once.
Man, why are you following me? I know you probably aren’t doing it on purpose but really? And yes I am unbelievably stubborn, on the internet and in real life, I own one of the toughest dogs to train I kinda have to be. That plus a giant family equals a very stubborn hard headed person.

You can tell how educated a person is when they say raw meat is bad for dogs. Dogs have been around for millions of years, and they didn’t hunt in packs for bags of kibble. The raw prey-model diet is the best thing you can give a dog.

My Cocker Spaniel is 6 months old and feeds on dry Beta dog food. He seems to have  runny poo’s everyday.. I would like to change his diet to raw, but wonder if his stools will be even worse?Â

you can start feeding at 3 weeks but each pup may start at diff times.

Yes, that’s exactly what happened. There’s no issue with stomach upset – they do just fine.

Not in the raw world if it was considered an organ in raw then a lot of dogs and cats would have deficiencies.
